Identifies high leverage categories & sub-commodities and establishes teams /processes to drive savings across all SBG’s
· Provides global industry markets trends, suppliers/regions capabilities and overall supply chain expertise · Leads emerging markets sourcing strategies and promote common supplier development as appropriate. · Work with SBG’s procurement organizations to implement world class procurement strategies. · Manages/track metrics and indicators within raw materials and promote hedging as a tool to minimize commodity risks. · Benchmarks strategic practices in commodity management and mentor SBG’s supply chain leadership. · Assist in negotiating global agreements with Asian suppliers. · Provides leadership to businesses team members to build project pipeline and drive initiatives to conclusion · Develops metrics to analyze and measure supplier performances against commitments. · Achieves year over year agreed upon cost reductions recognized and reported by SBG’s. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS · Bachelor’s degree required. · Experience in global / emerging region electrical /mechanical procurement. · Demonstrated experience with leveraged agreements, multi-year contracts and major subcontract management · Global /corporate /multi-site procurement experience. · Procurement experience of 10+ years in senior buyer /commodity management · Experience in outsourcing critical services to third party providers preferred. Strong knowledge of the managed categories · Fluent in English and Chinese ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS · MBA and GB/BB certification preferred · Ability to work in teams and obtain compliance from customers outside of hierarchical relationship. · Ability to analyze and synthesize complex sets of data. · Proven negotiation skills. · Motivates team members to achieve stretched objectives. · Project management skills -proven experience in leading sourcing projects at business level. · Communicates clearly balancing listening and speaking. · Natural leadership skills. · Establishes and maintain effective relationships with internal customers and suppliers. · High work ethics. · Self starter and result minded KEY SUCCESS FACTORS · Expertise in direct materials related commodities and value add are rapidly recognized .-strategies are efficiently implemented leading to measurable cost reductions and process improvements — the function is truly global — integration within the SBG’s direct materials procurement organizations as a key support provider is achieved . |
