Responsibilities
- Evaluate the current RF test methodologies and make recommendations for improvements. Provide advice to the project team on RF development. - Take responsibility for requirements analysis and specification writing for RF systems; design and implement communication systems; support the demonstration, deployment and maintenance of these systems and accept technical responsibility for this part of the project. - The successful applicant will have a good relevant degree with an extensive background in the Design of RF modules and RF boards, with simulation knowledge and skills in Lab Measurement. Requirements - Have at least 4 years (preferably more) experience of practical RF design, performance testing and evaluation. - Experience of 1-3GHz high power single ended and/ or balanced linear RF amplifiers using LDMOS and/ or GaAs devices. - Thorough understanding of low impedance matching techniques using microstrip transmission lines. - Familiarity with RF linear and non-linear simulation e.g. ADS, MWO. - Knowledge of thermal design techniques, including junction temp estimation. - Knowledge of gain/ efficiency/ linearity design trade-offs and design optimization techniques. - Working knowledge of RF characteristics of modern modulation standards e.g. GSM, CDMA - Understanding of modern RF measurements and techniques, including measurement of efficiency, ACPR, EVM IM3. - Practical experience in the design and conduct of RF field trials. - Knowledge of requirements captures process. - Knowledge of the Defense RF community. - Knowledge of load pull techniques and efficiency enhancement techniques such as Doherty amplifiers would be advantageous. - Fluency in spoken and written English. - Aggressive, hardworking, team-working and open-minded.
