Position Summary and Responsibilities Responsible for planning, developing and implementing security plans, security programs such as Emergency Response and Crisis Management, Physical Security, Information Protection, Incident Management and/or Investigation. Maintains knowledge of complex industry trends, current security issues and security technology and update security management on risk and threat that could impact IBM business. Assist security managenet to perform annual risk analysis for the country, particularly with respect to level of crime, terrorism, workplace violence, threats from natural and man made disasters. Responsible for providing leadership, advice and counsel to line management on security policy and practices. Identifies exposures and to recommend and develop corrective plans as appropriate. Provides advice and counsel to management on the expenditures of resources for protection of IBM assets where compromise or loss of these assets could seriously effect IBM business. Provides leadership, advice and counsel to all security staff in achiving current and long rage strategic program objectives. Serves as staff support to security management and assists in conducting investigations of significant threats and/or the loss or misappropriation of assets. Performs incident analysis and investigation relative to all incidents with advice and closure to all responsible functional management and supporting security management. Develops and implements security coordinator program which includes developing a training program for all security coordinators for each region. Responsible for conducting site reviews, writing audit/review reports, reviewing findings, and making recommendations line management and /or their security coordinators. Monitors and evaluates unit performance on key security issues and programs, recommends corrective action programs here appropriate. Establishes/maintains robust customer relationship to ensure complete understanding of customer processes to enable the delivery of viable security responses. Assist security management in analyzing complex issues or studies. Assumes other responsibilities as assigned. Skills Environment Requires a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of asset and information protection principles necessary to plan and implement security programs and solutions in support of the business. Communication/Negotiation Must have strong management presentation and negotiation skills as well as proven experience in organizing and directing staff/team work and coordinating such activities to a successful conclusion. Frequent contact to exchange information with all levels of line, regional and corporate management as well as external relationships. Problem Solving Requires strong analytical and problem solving skills to review, evaluate, recommend changes and/or develop and implement new programs as requirements and customer needs change. Must have the skill and ability to conduct and/or support sensitive investigations involving IBM personnel, assets and/or proprietary information. Contribution/Leadership Establishes security objectives, goals, processes and plans in support of divisional and corporate strategic directions. Responsible for advice and counsel to management on their compliance posture to all division and corporate standards. Impact on Business/Scope Sound judgment is required as decisions made are often major and affect relationships with customers, vendors, suppliers and employees. Must have ability to develop unique solutions that balance the needs of the business without loss or compromise of IBM assets.
