| I QUALIFICATIONS:
-Major in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology -A minimum of 5 years experience in Electrical/Mechanical design engineering related activities PLUS -Basic experience working with and knowledge of Agency/Regulatory requirements -At least 5 years experience in the construction and writing of technical reports. -Proficient in spreadsheet, word processing, and graph generating software. -At least 5 years work experience in managing multiple projects. -Strong oral and written English skills. Desired: -Experience in the use of standard Agency required laboratory test equipment (Di-electric testers, leakage meters, Impact devices, oscilloscopes, mulitmeters, micrometers, calipers, and other test instrumentation and hand tools). -Ability to perform basic statistical analysis of collected test data. -Experience in the development and documentation of Agency related test procedures. -Good verbal communication skills with the ability to teach technicians the proper execution of Agency test protocols and procedures. -Cantonese fluency a plus. II ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : -Assist in the Development of Compliance Capabilities and expertise in the ADC. Develop communications and relationship with local Agency engineers. -The ADC Compliance Engineer is assigned to both maintenance and new project work on International and Domestic electrical products. -He/she works very closely with Development and Test Engineers to develop and oversee Agency Approval and FMEA Test protocols. -Co-ordinate, develop, document and track Agency test plans in cooperation with Product Development engineers and Mgr. of Product Compliance for the approval of revisions to existing Products and/or the approval of new products. -He/she works very closely with Product Development Engineers to collect and verify all Construction Data File information pertinent to new and changes to existing products. -Assist with alternate materials, engineering change and Maintenance team meetings. -Author Agency Product description reports for new products and/or revisions to existing products. -Performs investigations relative to Agency related problems with testing and makes recommendations. -Produces error-free technical reports. -Compares and interprets results of Agency related tests against standards and/or related data. -Interacts with the other engineering personnel productively. -Conduct Product development procedure phase Safety/Agency reviews per BISSELL Policy #8 with the approval of any open issues by the BHI Manager of Product Compliance. -Oversee Agency related work conducted by suppliers. III NON-ESSENTIAL/ANCILLARY FUNCTIONS: -Participates in design reviews, safety audits, and outside Agency activities as needed. -Reviews and studies related Agency Safety Standards for advancement of knowledge and skills appropriate to the job function. -Assists the BHI Product Compliance Manager in decision making pertaining to resource allocations, and in meeting critical test related time lines. -Performs other engineering/test-related duties under the direction of the BHI Manager of Product Compliance. -Assists in the development and documentation of test procedures per Agency standards. IV MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISORY SCOPE: -The ADC Compliance Engineer, based upon his/her experience and tenure, is expected to mentor the Development engineers to insure that the design/construction of an Electrical Product meets all basic Agency Standards construction requirements. -The ADC Compliance engineer will also verify the proper execution of Agency test procedures and accurate reporting of results. V PRINCIPAL COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITY : -Principal communications will be with Development Engineers, Lab Technicians, Lab Supervisor, Test Engineers, Manager of Product Compliance , and contacts with outside Agency Test laboratory services. -The ADC Compliance Engineer will also interact with Safety Agency Engineer, Manufacturing Engineers, and Plastics Engineers as necessary.
