| Purpose Statement
The job of EEC Teacher position was established for the purpose of providing support to the instructional program within assigned site with specific responsibility for assisting in serving as a resource for non-English speaking persons. This job reports to Principal and EEC Director Implements instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts. Monitors class of students in a variety of settings for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment, Knowledge is required to perform basic math, read instructions and follow prescribed formats and present information to others; and understand multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: concepts of grammar and punctuation; and age appropriate activities. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; and utilize job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to identify issues and independent interpretation of guidelines. Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: communicating with diverse groups including those with limited English proficiency; and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. EEC request: 1. Speak English only in classroom 2. Encourage students to speak English only as well 3. Increase students’ knowledge of English with concepts of the lesson plans 4. Demonstrate sufficient patience especially with the lower level learners 5. Interact with students during the class time 6.
