Academic English Program in Zhenjiang, China
Zhenjiang International School (ZIS) is seeking a new TESOL graduate or experienced ESL/EFL teacher to teach in the Academic English Program for the upcoming academic year. The Academic English Program is tailored for 10th grade students to enhance their English level and prepare them for the use of English in academic settings. ZIS is a reputable public high school in Zhenjiang that offers international program to prepare students for US and Canada study. It is located in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province, which is one hour from Shanghai by train. The Academic English Program is a prerequisite for ZIS students enrolling in Binghamton University’s University Readiness Program (URP), which prepares high school students for a smooth transition into university education. Each semester Binghamton University provides credit-bearing courses to sharpen students' abilities in critical thinking, research and presentation. The successful candidate will be hired directly by ZIS and have training and support from Binghamton ESL faculty as necessary. The Position: •One Chinese academic year (September 1 to June 30) at Zhenjiang International School •Three Academic English Courses taught each semester for Grade 10 students including intermediate and advanced level speaking, reading, writing and listening. •Class size is about 20 students per class. •Free housing and meals plan provided •Airfare reimbursement •Airport pick up, arrival orientation and living support by experienced local team •US$20,000 to 25,000 annual salary depending on experience •1 - 3 years renewable contract Requirements: •US Citizen •Native speaker of English •ESL or EFL teaching experience •Desire to travel •Passion to teach Preferred qualifications: •MA TESOL •Experience teaching in Higher Ed •5 years teaching experience •Experience abroad •Familiarity with Chinese culture and language or strong desire to acquire Please contact Gloria Hu of Zhenjiang International School at bel_hu@126.com for more information |
