Reports to: Account Operations Director/Client Service Manager
Position Summary Translator is a written translating position based in our office or client site to provide support for all our clients, required to efficiently translate economic / sector / company research reports from Chinese to English. This position requires excellent Chinese / English capabilities, solid prior experience and ability to work independently or with little supervision.
Primary Responsibilities 1. Follow clients’ requests exactly and accurately process clients’ projects, working within strict time constraints and deadlines
2. Coordinate incoming requests, including: assessing completion time, determining required capacity and advising best work flow method
3. Assign/distribute jobs among vendors
4. Use job tracking software to log in and out of all tasks assigned for internal tracking purposes
5. Contribute to our onsite translation team through cooperation and participation
6. Meet tight deadlines
7. Communicate and interact with clients in a professional, positive and courteous manner
8. Exhibit a professional decorum at all times
Desirable Qualifications
Experiences of ibank documentation translation highly preferred
Excellent command of Chinese and English
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
University graduate majoring in English / Chinese Translation, Linguistics or 5 years’ relevant work experience and ideally graduate in business/finance or related discipline
Solid translation experience
Ability to work well in a highly confidential environment
Able to work and deliver quality output under pressure and tight timeline
Knowledge of financial services industry a plus
Strong customer service skills and professionalism
Basic knowledge of the PC platform, understanding of Windows XP
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite: Microsoft Word ? Intermediate
Ability to learn and conform to any new work procedures
Willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays at minimal notice when required
