581 Examinees in Chiang Mai University Have Signed up for the HSK Test

November 10th, 2012 - The Confucius Institute at Chiang Mai successful organized the 5th YCT for primary/high school students. In this February, the Confucius Institute at Chiang Mai applied to Hanban and organized a test, the November test was the 5th one for the year and it was a complete success just as the previous tests.

The Confucius Institute at Chiang Mai University set up 4 exam sites for the 5th YCT in the Institute, Lamphun, Sukhothai and Prachuap Khiri Khan with 22 test rooms. Five hundred and twenty two examinees signed up for the 5th YCT.

The Confucius Institute at Chiang Mai University and Lamphun Hongwei School have collaborated to organize YCT for several times. And 254 examinees took the 5th YCT in Lamphun Hongwei School, accounting for half of the total examinees. Students in this test center are relatively young with the youngest one at 7 years old. To get them familiar with YCT, the Confucius Institute at Chiang Mai University gave pre-test guidance for them. In the 5th YCT, the Confucius Institute Chinese President Yu Qinwei at Chiang Mai University headed a team to Lamphun to preside over the process, which went quite smoothly.

The Confucius Institute at Chiang Mai University has long been dedicated to the promotion of Chinese language in the north of Thailand. By organizing all kinds of language and cultural activities, it has expanded the influence of Chinese tests in the region. The regular YCT is one of the major tasks of the Confucius Institute at Chiang Mai University, which is quite active in organizing YCT as regulated by Hanban. The Confucius Institute would publicize all types and levels of tests before the test dates of each year. By November 10 this year, 1,241 examinees had taken YCT organized by the Confucius Institute at Chiang Mai University in this year. If we count in the examinees in HSK, the total number would reach 2,384. On December 2, the Confucius Institute at Chiang Mai University would organize the last HSK for the year. Till today, 581 examinees have signed up for the test. Based on this, the total number of examinees in Chinese language tests organized by the Confucius Institute at Chiang University will reach nearly 3,000. Supported by all communities, Chinese language test has been recognized and produced considerable influence. The Confucius Institute at Chiang Mai University will continue to work hard and make it a bigger success.
