| Essential Responsibilities:
Production: · Manage all Mechanical Elements being fabricated by Sub Contractors for the project. · These items include, but are not limited to: The (4) Large Screen Lifting mechanisms and the backwall screen itself, Motion Seating mechanics, Overhead Lighting rigging and trussing including motors. All motorized hanging displays. Security Systems, Fire and Safety Systems, HVAC systems, Audio Video systems throughout the pavilion, motorized turntables, and any interactive display which requires animation. · Work with Engineering on the construction methods for projects in the drawing phase. · Work with Design on the details of the assigned project elements. · Work with Subcontractors (as needed), including meeting and viewing of their portion of the projects as they progress through the construction phase. · Handle requests from the show site for repairs, or new properties and follow through with shipping to ensure items are received at site. · Fill out weekly time sheets. · Organize project roll-off meetings with the Sub Contractor Fabrication. · Analyze and review materials for correct application and lead-times for timeline. · Expedite sample materials, mock-ups, or models requested from design for presentation. · Attend site surveys to confirm critical dimensions and and spot any installation challenges. · Assist Estimator with respect to understanding the impact of certain fabrication applications. · Review active projects in Engineering. Provide engineer with input on construction techniques. · Sign off on final release drawings before they go into the Sub Contractor. · Schedule and conduct the Sub Contractor drawing release meeting. · Work with Lead Foreman on element fabrication crew, hours and additions and subtractions to work force as schedule demands. · Work with Lead Foreman to adjust work hours of the crew (especially during the holidays). · Research material sources. · Write purchasing requests for materials used on projects. · Monitor project fabrication for 100% Quality Control in the shop and at installation site. TITLE: Show Mechanical Production Manager PAGE: 2 of 3 Essential Responsibilities (cont.): · Field calls for add-ons, missing or damaged materials discovered during load outs and take appropriate action. · Provide on-site Supervision as necessary to insure 100% quality and adherence of time line dates. · Actively enforce GPJ policy regarding Shop safety and efficiencies. · Attend all scheduled team meetings and production meetings. · Step in and take charge of other Production Manager's responsibilities while they are away from the office. · Review drawings and provide hours by trade, and by element, to all department foremen at release meetings. Financial: · Work with Estimating in the generation of estimates for projects and the financial management of those projects. · Will be trained in estimating functions and fundamentals in order to effectively work with Estimating. · Document Change Orders when requested by Client, Client Services or a change in construction techniques is needed, and maintain the Change Order log with Estimating. · Daily Review all new projects in Estimating/Design to provide early Production viewpoint. · Review the project projections with Estimating, General Foreman and Lead Foreman. · Keep the project hour’s analysis report updated weekly for review during Cost Analysis Meeting. Logistics: · Work with Logistics for installation and dismantle of properties at event site. · Responsible for coordinating the load-out of exhibit properties to with Logistics. · Assist shipping for special priority shipping of short lead project materials. · Work with Logistics for scheduling the shipment of properties. · Print final load out checklist on day of shipment and review with load out supervisor. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential responsibilities. · Degree in Building Construction Management, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management, or 4 year carpentry apprenticeship. · Knowledge of building and construction standards and terminology. · Ability to read blue prints and engineering drawings. · Computer knowledge: Word and Excel. · Familiarity with Microsoft Project and Lotus Notes. · Basic understanding of Project Management Methodology. · Familiarity of interior and exterior building materials, construction terms, and fabrication techniques. · Above average in organizational and communication skills. · Able to multitask various projects daily · Ability to gather and analyze data to develop an effective solution · Experience with installation and dismantling of exhibits at show site. · Understanding of Project Management · Creative thinking during all phases of the project to achieve the best solution for a project. · 4-5 years experience. |
