Many times during the year we might think of Dear Mom, but sometimes, it's only once a year that we remember to take the time to give thanks to the women who gave us life. May 8 is Mother's Day in many countries in the world and so we asked some of our CRI reporters to share some memorable stories and share what they’ve learned about their mothers in order to honor Mom this 2011 Mother's Day.

"One summer when I was in university, I was working out in Vacaville, which is a city in California and I was supposed to be a door-to-door salesman. I wasn't particularly good at this in the sense that I actually sold nothing. So, given that I was incredibly poor and essentially bankrupt and living on the streets and had a run-in with the law as well, I can't really talk about that. I basically had to contact my mom and say, 'Would you mind buying me a ticket out of this place?' And my mom, she very kindly delved into her pockets and bought me this ticket and within the week I was back home."
