On May 6 the University of International Relations’ International Strategy and Security Research Center of National Security (quite a mouthful isn’t it?) released China’s first ever Blue Book of National Security. In said book, they outlined what they think China’s best future plan of action should be regarding Russia, Europe and the US in order to ensure the nation’s safety.
The three principles of the report are headed “United with Russia”, “Pull Europe” and “Stabilize the US”. Broken down this means that the book suggests China create a political alliance with Putin’s Russia, increase strategic relations with Europe and promote trade, and finally to create a mutually stable relationship between the world’s two super powers (China and the US) by way of respect and compromise, not confrontation.
These are all rather ideal scenarios and it remains to be seen if and how they will be implemented.
