Christmas is here again and, even in China, there are decorations all over the place. Malls and shops have decorated their establishments to look the part and many places have had Christmas trees up for a while now. A big part of the Christmas spirit is having someone dress up as Santa Claus and entertain children (probably so parents can hear what they want).
In China in 2013 it has been reported that foreigners who play Santa full time for the month of December can earn up to 30,000 RMB. This obviously depends on your authenticity and how many hours you work. For one day you can earn anywhere between 500 and 1,000 RMB.
So if you’re a student, or have some long term travel plans, make sure you cash in on this opportunity next year!
