Be jealous
【注音】chī cù
【解释】比喻产生嫉妒情绪，特别是异性之间。一个人看见自己的男（女）朋友和别的异性朋友谈得亲热的的时候，就会产生一种情绪，象是一口气喝了一大碗酸醋似的，正式名称是嫉妒。
This is used as a metaphor for the feeling of jealousy, especially between the opposite sex. When people see his girl (or her boy) friend is having fun intimately with another boy (girl), a strong feeling will arise as swallowing down a big bowl of vinegar. That is “jealous”in a formal term.

例1：
A：我建议你最好不要跟那个“小白脸”来往。
B：怎么，吃醋了？
Ex1.：
A：I would suggest you stop having dealings with that effeminate young man.
B：Why, you are jealous?
例2：老张的夫人喜欢吃醋，大家都叫她醋坛子。
Ex2.：Lao Zhang’s wife is a jealous woman with a nickname of a “vinegar jar”.
