"Haibao" is the mascot of Shanghai World Expo 2010. The lovely design of a blue "ren" image is new and fresh to us all.
Haibao means "the treasure of the sea". The creation of the mascot was inspired by the Chinese character "ren", and the sea blue color was added to suggest life and vigor. The smile shows the optimistic and cheerful spirit of the Chinese; the posture of keeping the head and chest up with the coordination of both hands suggests the tolerance and passion of the Chinese; the thumbs-up gesture is the sincere invitation of friends from all over the world.
