The Chinese Character, an Interpretable Chinese Culture“付” (fu, pay) is an associative character. In bronze inscriptions, the character has a “人” (ren, man) radical on the left, and a “手” (shou, hand) on the right, which suggests that the word has something to do with the action of the hand. The original meaning of “付” is “hold something in the hand and give it to others”, namely, “give” or “deliver”. In the small seal script, the “人” on the left and the “手” on the right are distorted, but the basic meaning remains the same; in simplified Chinese characters, the form of the character becomes what it is now. “付” also contains the connotations of “pay”, “entrust something to the care or management of others”, etc.
