Gannan Public University, founded in June 1958, is located in Ganzhou city along Beijing-Kowloon Railway, a famous historical and cultural city in the south of Jiangxi province. It is the only provincial normal university with postgraduate study in the bordering region among Jiangxi, Guangdong, Fujian and Hunan provinces. During the past 50 years, GNU has brought up more than 60,000 qualified students of various specialties. In 2007, GNU was evaluated to be excellent in the undergraduate teaching level by the Ministry of Education.
