About Jinling Institute of Technology |
Jinling Institute of Technology (JIT), located in Nanjing city, is a tertiary university of Jiangsu Province. Established in 1958, it is one of the two municipal government-sponsored universities in Nanjing.
At present, the total enrollment of the whole university is 18,000. It now consists of 14 faculties and departments (The Faculty of Business, the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Horticulture, the Faculty of Bio-Science and Technology, the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, the Faculty of Architecture, the Faculty of Information Technology, the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Material Engineering, the Faculty of Foreign Language, the Faculty of International Education, the Faculty of Further Education, and etc.)
With 3 campus sites, the new campus located in Jiangling College Town covers a land area of 300 acres, of which the construction space is 700,000 square meters. There is a collection of over 1,000,000 books in the new library. The University has over 1,000 faculty members, including more than 300 professors and associate professors. The Chinese teachers all have Master’s Degrees and PhD, and many of them have the experience of studying abroad or training abroad.
Jinling Institute of Technology (JIT) currently has more than 50 undergraduate specialties and offer programs ranging from Bachelor of Technology, Bachelor of Agronomy, Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Management, Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law.
JIT has adequate faculty with high teaching skills, strong foreign language ability, and rich professional and practical background. It currently has some foreign teachers who come from USA, Canada, and European countries. The foreign teachers in JIT will take the courses like IETLS teaching and oral English.
Since 1995, JIT has held hands with many offshore universities in international joint programs, like Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia, the Stenden University in Netherland, Auckland University of Technology and etc. Both the Chinese and American parties adopt bilateral curriculum-articulation cooperative style, and enable Chinese students to get dual bachelor degrees from JIT and offshore universities through the mode of “4+0” or the mode of “3+1”.
