Market leading E-commerce and Trading Company specializing in the OPTICAL INDUSTRY (eyeglasses and sunglasses) is seeking a strong Chinese candidate for continued market development in Greater China.
To support the dynamic growth of the business, Motion Global is aggressively expanding its supplier development team. Our current team encompasses over 80 staff dedicated to bringing customers around the world a new and enjoyable experience in the optical space. We currently work with a range of optical factories near Shanghai in China and we want to grow our supplier base and improve the partners that we are working with.
Supplier Development Opportunity
The Motion Global Shanghai office is seeking a Chinese candidate to assist in developing our supplier relationships with Optical (Eyeglasses and Sunglasses Frames and Lenses) Manufacturing companies. The ideal candidate will have experience in the optical industry, having been working with either an Optical manufacturer (frames or lenses) or an Optical trading company. We will also consider anyone who has experience working with other product categories, who has strong experience at building relationships with factories and developing supplier relationships.
The candidate will work in our supplier development team reporting to the Supplier development manager.
Skills & Requirements
Vendor Relationship Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years working experience in a trading company or optical manufacturing company
- Able to understand the different qualities of optical frames produced
- Be able to provide direction to Chinese factories on the eyeglasses frames that we require
- Handle QC of eyeglasses and sunglasses
- Be able to visit factories near Shanghai and communicate / negotiate about pricing, quality, production time and all other factors
General Skills Required
- Native Chinese (Native written/spoken and editing skills in Mandarin)
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Required to have Greater China supplier development knowledge and experience in the market (2-3 years)
- Strong research and analytical skills/ability to work independently and a positive “can do” attitude
- Ability to self-prioritize work streams and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong problem solving skills are required
- The ability to understand what the customer wants
- To be well organized and good at planning
- Computer literate with an excellent understanding of MS Office and CMS
- Highly self-motivated
