Mintel Inspire Freelance Consumer Trends Analyst, China
Mintel is investing in its coverage in Asia Pacific region and we are looking for bright, opinionated writers with an understanding of, and passion for, consumer trends in the region. Ideally, candidates will have a background in journalism or marketing.
Inspire is Mintel’s newest and fastest growing product and monitors and analyses consumer trends and their implications and opportunities for our clients.
Role responsibilities:
Using media resources to find country specific stories, innovations, campaigns and statistical releases that can extend Inspire’s coverage in the Asia Pacific region.
Delivering TWO observations of 250 works a week which:
? Provide insight on consumer behavior in that country. ? Are quantified with relevant data. ? Offer actionable implications and opportunities. ? Link to one or more of Inspire’s existing 82 trends.
Delivering ONE thought piece of 500 words each month which:
? Examines a current focus of trends or consumer behavior in that country. ? Quantifies and illustrates this with data, advert, innovations or news examples.
Successful candidates will need to have:
? A background in journalism or marketing. ? A passion for and understanding of consumer behavior in that country. ? Excellent research, communication and English language writing skills. ? The ability to ground and interpret observations in terms of consumer behavior. ? The ability to show the implications and significance of these observations. ? Good analytical and interpretative skills, creative ideas and plenty of enthusiasm. ? Good organizational skills and ability to meet weekly and monthly deadlines. ? The ability and willingness to learn to use Mintel Inspire and its trends as a supportive tool.
