Marketing Internship
ShanghaiExpat is currently accepting applications for an outstanding candidate to join our staff as a Marketing Intern. It is a three-month, unpaid commitment in which the candidate is responsible for making their own visa arrangements. The successful candidate will be given an opportunity to gain experience in the online media industry with one of the most widely-read websites in China.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate with our marketing, sales, and technical groups to facilitate marketing functions (i.e. brochures, trade shows, events, etc.)
2. Attend media events, openings, and networking activities on behalf of ShanghaiExpat.
3. Reach out and create connections with companies doing business in and around Shanghai.
4. Create and modify marketing materials using Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
5. Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.
6. Support staff in assigned project-based work, including but not limited to:
a. Developing procedures for competitive research and analysis;
b. Coordination of development of marketing pieces for print, internet, exhibition and community events.
7. May perform other duties as assigned and required.
Minimum Ability, Skill and Knowledge Requirements:
1. Knowledge/Interest in online media, publishing, events, marketing and sales.
2. Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships.
3. Optimistic and energetic personality who takes initiative and can self-manage.
4. Must have strong organizational skills and pay close attention to detail.
5. Fluency in English is a must, both written and spoken.
6. Ability to write and present reports, business correspondence, and event information.
7. Design background is a plus, especially for marketing materials like posters, brochures, and flyers .
