The Consulate General of Canada in Shanghai is seeking qualified candidates for
Trade Commissioner (Transportation), LE-08, Trade Section
Competition: 2011-LES-TRADE-001
Open to: Chinese or Canadian citizens residing in China and spouses of diplomats at the Canadian missions in China who are legally able to work in Shanghai.
Work location: Shanghai. Short-listed candidates should be able to attend interview/test in Shanghai at own expenses. Successful candidates must be willing to relocate at own expenses.
Summary of Duties
The Canadian Trade Commissioner Service (www.tradecommissioner.gc.ca) is a world-wide network of professionals in international business development (IBD), with preferred access to business knowledge and contacts, who are committed to advancing Canadian interests abroad. The Trade Commissioner (Transportation) is responsible for promoting the Canadian transportation sector by:
· Developing current knowledge of market opportunities;
· Providing advice and assistance to Canadian clients including advocacy and troubleshooting;
· Building networks of key local contacts;
· Promoting investment, science and technology;
· Planning and managing trade events; and other duties as assigned.
