PREREQUISITES
1 Diploma with Business discipline and with minimum 5 years experience in similar capacity in high mix low volume manufacturing.
2 A certification by related professional organizations (such as APICS and NAPM), a bachelor's degree in Materials Management, Business Administration, or an equivalent, or an experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
3 Strong communication and analytical skills; demonstrate negotiation and problem solving abilities; and, must be able to provide leadership and direction without formal authority.
4 Occasional travel may be required.
5 Senior / Lead Buyer must have at least 2 years of purchasing experience in the manufacturing environment and demonstrated supervisory skills.
6 Good working knowledge of computerized MRP systems (prefer UFIDA). Possess strong leadership skill and good analytical skill.
7 Maintain a good working knowledge of Inventory management, Supply Chain Management, plastics and leather industry, supply base, pricing process and strategies, as well as e-Commerce tools.
8 Two to three years experience managing the following commodities: plastic resin, pigmentation, metals, wire and electric/electronic components.
9 Communicate effectively and escalate issues appropriately.
10 Supplier delivery, quality, cost and service performance meets or exceeds SCM expectations.
Role and Responsibility
1 Optimize overall cost of materials.
2 Manage materials for new product introduction and production
3 Planner responsibilities:
3.1Order review with Program Manager to set the master production schedule including planned orders to meet requirements.
3.2track status of WIP and communicate with production and program manager regularly
3.3run MRP and set the order requirements for purchasing
3.4maintain capacity planning model
3.5monitor inventory accuracy through cycle count program administered by others.
4 Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
5 Senior Buyer responsibilities also include the following:
5.1 Provide hiring manager with input on the plant’s material staffing needs.
