Title: Regional Program Assistant
Supervisor: Vice President, Programs
The Regional Program Assistant will support AmCham Shanghai’s program development for the Yangtze River Delta region, focusing on the provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang with a special focus on the city of Suzhou. The Regional Program Assistant will be responsible for researching local market needs, assessing market size, supporting strategy development, forecasting finances and identifying potential partnerships.
The Regional Program Assistant will report to the Vice President, Programs and will enter a limited contract to expire in early 2012.
Duties:
The key tasks of the Regional Program Assistant will include:
· Measure potential market size for chamber membership in Zhejiang and Jiangsu, with a special emphasis on the city of Suzhou;
· Build an informational database including contact information of target members, local media, and other parties as needed;
· Research support needs of member companies in target locations;
· Support data-driven strategy development and mid- and long-term forecasting;
· Identify potential partnerships;
· Conduct competitive analysis; and,
· Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
· University graduate with 2 years work experience;
· Strong academic credentials;
· Native-level spoken English with proven English writing skills, knowledge of Mandarin Chinese a plus;
· Proven analytical and quantitative skills;
· Proven cross-cultural communication skills;
· Proficient in full MS Office suite
