JOB TITLE: Director, China Operations
DEPARTMENT: Global Operations
REPORTS TO: Vice President, Global Operations
Ideal candidate:
? Ethnic Chinese background (could be Singaporean, Taiwanese, Malaysian, etc.)
? Willingness to travel internationally as needed
? 15+ years working for a western multinational company
? Exposure to and understanding of US public company ethics requirements such as: Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.
? 2+ years working/living in the west
? 5+ years in Operations/Plant leadership role
? 10+ years experience in supply chain/manufacturing/engineering roles
? 5+ years experience in a semiconductor component company
? 2+ years experience working in a wafer fab environment
? 4 years technical degree
? Proficiency in English and Mandarin language
? Experience leading continuous improvement strategies such as Lean or Six Sigma
? Experience building and developing strong teams
? Exposure to a multi-site environment
Key focus areas during the first year are:
? Build on strength of the local organization towards world class (development of existing staff, and upgrades as needed)
? Develop and deploy a solid continuous improvement initiative (Lean and Six Sigma)
? Drive earlier, more effective, engagement with the product development teams
? Build solid relationships with the Business Units Key attractions of this role
? Regional multi-site role
? Engagement and understanding of multiple BU’s (strategies, profitability, customers, etc.)
? Core team member of an experienced global operations team and reporting to a US based VP of Global Operations
