Head of Resource Development, China Offices

 

Reports to the Managing Director, Habitat for Humanity China (HFHC) , the Head of Resource Development is responsible for increasing the resource development capacity of HFH China offices and leading the HFH China Shanghai Office while maintaining a program consistent with the mission and principles of HFH International.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES :


Resource Development

l   Develop and implement fundraising strategies and activities, including solicitations for Major Gifts, grant funding applications to foundations and institutions and funding partnerships with corporations;

l   Develop new and existing donors;

l   Identify and cultivate partnerships with appropriate organizations willing to work with HFHC on a match-funding basis or in other ways which expand the benefit of HFH’s own funding;

l   Serve as the spokesperson and public relations contact; take advantage of opportunities to raise awareness of Habitat’s work and respond to information needs;

l   Develop and maintain good relationship with MNCs in China;

l   Advise and train HFHC staff in fundraising strategies and activities including capital campaigns;

l   Manage Resource Development staff in China offices.


Shanghai Office - Management

l   Serve as legal Chief Representative responsible for management of the HFH China Shanghai Office with direct reports comprising resource development, communications, program, and administrative staff;

l   Manage Shanghai Office income and expenditure budget ;

l   Ensure that the representative office maintains and develops good working links with government bodies at Local County, Township and Provincial level as well as maintaining good relationship with other NGOs;

l   Work closely with other HFHC national office staff;

l   Undertake any legitimate responsibilities and duties as assigned by management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

l   5 years Resource Development experience or more;

l   Strong communication, public presentation and organizational skills, strategic thinking and problem solving ;

l   Undergraduate degree as a minimum ;

l   Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese;

l   A team builder with strong leadership, proactive, analytical, strategic and people oriented ;

l   Able to work independently and under pressure, overtime and occasional work during holidays required ;

l   Available to travel frequently;

l   Experience in PRC government relations preferred ;

l   Computer literate; able to use MS Office and database .
