GuavaTalk, founded in 2007, is an American-owned, privately held organization headquartered in Beijing. GuavaTalk provides premium education services in the instruction of the Chinese and English language to learners from around the world.
Job Description
GuavaTalk is seeking both part-time and full-time, native English speakers from the United States. Candidates from other native English speaking countries will also be considered. These candidates must demonstrate the ability to converse and teach using a native, American accent and knowledge of American culture.
Depending on the candidate’s experience and the student’s language levels, teachers will teach English using the Spalding Method. In some cases, the Spalding Method may not be suitable for the student’s language learning goals and proficiency level. In these instances, the teacher and the student will decide upon materials for instruction, and the best methodology to use for instruction.
GuavaTalk will provide books and curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Teach English using the Spalding Method to Chinese ages 5 and older
- Develop lesson plans
- Assist in marketing English language programs if necessary
- Provide frequent feedback to the students and parents
- Conduct assessments and demo lessons for prospective students
Job Requirements
- 2 years of experience teaching English as a foreign language
- Minimum of 1 year commitment
- Should have an American accent
- Experience teaching using phonetics is a plus
- Teaching certificates such as TESOL is a plus
- College degree
- Personable, and out-going
- Experience teaching children is a plus
Compensation and Other Benefits
Compensation is competitive and depends on the candidate’s experience and other qualifications. FT teachers will be paid on a monthly salary of 8-12K RMB. Accommodation may be provided for outstanding candidates.
