New Zealand Trade and Enterprise , the national economic development agency for New Zealand, is seeking an Investment Manager to join our team in the North Asia region. The Investment team aims to attract international investment to New Zealand and assists New Zealand companies expand their operations overseas through direct foreign investment.
This Shanghai based role requires knowledge of international business and investment. Strong skills in new business development and consultative sales are essential.
In this role you will work with investors such as corporations and venture capitalists to help them understand the value propositions for investing in New Zealand. You will develop deal opportunities in targeted sectors and manage these to the point of a successful investment in New Zealand.
Your will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with qualified potential investors across a number of sectors. You will determine the investor's investment decision criteria and develop an investment proposition which meets the investor's requirements and fits with New Zealand's capabilities.
You need to be able to demonstrate all or most of the following:
· Strong business development capability with an emphasis on strategic solutions
· A track record of project and/or deal delivery
· Insight into global economic business and investment trends
· An understanding of international trends in inward and outward investment attraction
· Ability to quickly and successfully build client relationships at a senior level
· Relevant networks in China
· Ability to communicate effectively and manage cross-border relationships
· Advanced presentation and influencing/selling skills
· Appropriate tertiary qualification preferred
· Fluency in spoken and written Chinese
