Statement of the Job
The Associate Director of International Department primarily assists with planning, organizing, and implementing a comprehensive Study Abroad Program in China for students from all over the world.
The Associate Director of International Department is responsible for leading course articulation efforts and works closely with American universities and universities from other countries. At the same time the Associate Director interacts and collaborates with the administrative staff and faculty of Shanghai Top College to internationalize the curriculum, and to ensure it meets all the requirements to get the US accreditation. Overall, the Associate Director’s goal as well as the whole International Department is to make Shanghai Top College the best destination in China for study abroad students from all over the world.
Essential Functions
1. Assists with creating, developing, and implementing of all aspects of the Study Abroad Program in China
2. Lead the course articulation effort with the US and other foreign universities
3. Interfacing with Shanghai Top College staff and faculty for internationalizing the school’s curriculum
4. Serve as primary liaison with Shanghai Top College administrative and academic staff to ensure that the curriculum meets all requirements to receive the US accreditation
5. Provides supervision, training, and professional development opportunities for staff members
6. Management and provision of student support services
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Required
1. Bilingual, native speaker in both Chinese and English
2. High school diploma and the bachelor’s degree from the US schools with a good understanding of the US education system
3. Persuasive and enthusiastic personality
4. Desire to work with international students
5. Strong leadership ability, including motivating and developing others
6. Exceptional communication skills
7. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
8. Extremely detail-oriented and good organization skills
