The Surrey International Institute (SII), DUFE, is an academic partnership institution between Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) in Dalian, China, and the University of Surrey in Guildford, Surrey, UK.

This institution combines the recognised strengths of two highly respected universities in China and the UK.  The University of Surrey is recognised as a world-leader for tourism education and research. SII prides itself on its high profile teaching team, which includes academics from Surrey, local teaching staff from DUFE and other international scholars.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Tutor in Tourism Management to be part of SII in Dalian, where students have the opportunity to study for a Surrey degree in China.  All degrees are taught in English and are delivered to the same specification as the University of Surrey, UK degrees.  The successful candidate will develop teaching methods to support the delivery of the Tourism Management programmes. Working within a team of experienced international academics, you will have the opportunity to discover new approaches to improving student learning and the student experience.

Candidates should possess a doctoral degree, while a teaching qualification or experience of teaching in a HE Institution would be an advantage.  This role will provide an opportunity to combine academic rigour with professional realism, therefore if you have relevant commercial experience this would also be of interest.  You should be experienced in teaching in English within an English speaking environment. Applications are particularly welcome form candidates who have experience working within international HE institutions or have taught international students.

If you are committed to providing quality teaching within a stimulating academic environment and would like to find out more, please contact the HR Department by submitting your resume.

Applications will be reviewed from:  7 January 2010 until the post is appointed.

We acknowledge, understand and embrace cultural diversity.
