SCREENING REQUIREMENTS
Education
:  Successful completion of Secondary School (senior middle school or equivalent.)
Language : Fluency in English (read, written, and spoken) and Mandarin language (spoken). Knowledge of French is highly desirable.
Experience : A minimum of 1 year of working experience in a general office environment. Experience working independently and without supervision is desired.
   
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Migration Integrity Officer, provides support to the Migration Integrity Program for the Shanghai area (Anhui, Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Zhejiang); assists in the security and criminal screening of all visa applications; collects and maintains a variety of statistical databases and makes preliminary analyses; responds to enquiries; conducts research and prepares files; liaises with local authorities, airlines, and government offices in Canada; provides translation and interpretation services; provides administrative support services; performs other duties as required.

RATED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge
? Knowledge of general office procedures and practices
? Knowledge of software packages: Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
? Knowledge of China, Chinese customs, and Chinese society
? Knowledge of Canadian immigration policies and procedures

Experience
? Minimum one year experience working in a general office environment
? One year experience working on a PC in a secure network environment
? Experience with a variety of software including databases
? Experience in dealing with the general public

? Ability to travel within China
? Ability to type 30 words per minute.
? Ability to work independently with minimal direction

Working conditions
? The candidate is often required to work directly with the public
? Overtime is required and is often unpredictable
? Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice, and to travel inside the country as required

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
