Gezhi Ameson American High School Experimental Programme Center is currently looking to hire a Drama Instructor for the coming Spring Semester (February 2011-August 2011).
Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required to work in China
BA in Performing Arts or Education will be given preference
Ability to speak and understand Mandarin is a plus, but not necessary (the students speak excellent English!)
Experience:
Prior experience teaching drama in a school or community setting
Teachers of other fields that can demonstrate an interest in drama are also welcome to apply
Experience working in a multicultural environment or international experience preferred
Duties:
Train Students in communication and presentation skills - how to project and control voice, how to control body language and expression
Work independently to develop class materials and activities
Create daily lesson plans that include: history of drama, dramatic exercises, and improvisational activities
Help students craft dramatic pieces, and possibly organize a large-scale class performance
This is a full time positions, work hours M-F 8:00-5:00 (class load is variable but light)
