Requirements ：

1 、 Minimum education, certification and experience requirements

  • Education: University degree with a major in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. MS degree desired.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in hybrid packaging design required. Experience in flex board design is highly desired. Microelectronic Process Engineering experience strongly desired. Quality Engineering experience desired.

2 、 Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of microelectronic/semiconductor manufacturing process is required.
  • Knowledge of PCB fabrication is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of project management is required.
  • Knowledge of mechanical components required.
  • Knowledge of geometrical tolerance desired.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control desired.

3 、 Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to work well with numbers required.
  • Ability to work independently on the CAD workstation required.

  • Must be fluent in written and verbal communications in both Chinese and English

  • Experience in Design by Constraint is beneficial.

Duties ：

1 、 GENERAL SUMMARY OF THE PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

This position is responsible for designing and updating microelectronic circuit packaging. This includes flex circuits,

rigid boards, rigid-flex, thickfilm ceramic circuits and other packaging technologies for our standard and custom hearing aids, headsets, electrical test boards, probe cards and miscellaneous research & technology or development projects. These circuits are designed to meet Starkey’s electrical performance, quality, manufacturing and assembly specifications. This China based position will work closely and directly with the design group in HQ.

2 、 Approach - Performance of Duties(What to Do)

  • Design circuit packages
  • Order new custom and off-the-shelf components
  • Release created documentation to Doc Control 

3 、 Deployment - Essential Job Functions(How to Do It)

  • Design in CAD using electrical and physical constraints in the layout package.
  • In-house or factory training will be supplied as needed.
  • Use your imagination, design experience, schooling and training to create multiple layouts.
  • Project Plan Statement & Musts and Wants will supply key electro-mechanical inputs for new products.
  • ASIC/IC Vendor specifications may be supplied or created by you.
  • Conduct design verifications on your co-workers designs.
  • Circuit board outline may be supplied or worked out with mechanical engineering for mechanical restrictions.
  • Preliminary Acoustic ERS, containing schematic, components with identifiers, layout recommendations.
  • Attend the weekly China engineering meeting and contribute with the status of your assignments.
  • Research components via the internet and vendor representatives.
  • Work with vendors and Manufacturing to develop and design layouts.
  • Create vendor specification sheets with Starkey part numbers.
  • Place Oracle purchase order requests, as required.
  • Request Starkey part numbers from material management.
  • Release all design documents needed to order and build prototypes.
  • Submit documents with an email or ECO form.
4 、 Results – Performance Measures (How to measure success)

  • Work log for: project/task completions/design reviews Weekly review
  • Design revision log Cycle review
  • Written reports (experiments; completed projects) Cycle review
  • Materials ordered on time; vendor selections Cycle review
  • Thoroughness of designs and design meetings (including performance feedback from HQ) Cycle review

5 、 Other Duties (Non Measurable)

  • Assist Manufacturing on how to assemble the design as requested.
  • Create drawings for manufacturing processes when asked.
  • Daily production support of new and existing product as needed.
  • Provide direct support to the hybrid manufacturing group as required.
  • Support (DFM) Design for Manufacturability practices.
  • Provide input and help develop advanced product concepts as requested.
  • Search for new suppliers as the need arises.
  • Support Starkey Employee Corporate and/or Department Guidelines.
  • Check and verify quality.
  • Support corporate health and safety objectives.
  • React to change productively and handle other essential duties as assigned.
